Your Daily Vid: Big Think

The next time someone tells you that most people — in the journalism biz, they're called the "general reader" or the "general public" — are not interested in intellectual history, heritage and culture — point them in the direction of Big Think.

In a nutshell, it's YouTube for ideas. It allows users to pose questions, provide answers — and something even more important. The website is active. That is, unlike YouTube, it's not passive. It's not running by itself. The people at Big Think seek out experts and intellectuals in a variety of fields. So it's just Joe Average giving his opinion. Case in point is Moby. Here he gives some tips for would-be composers.
