After the Deluge

After spending all day staring at a computer screen, it takes a lot to drag me in front of one again. My tired eyes aren't used to reading books or comic strips on a monitor.

Sometimes, though, a story comes along that makes it worth switching my computer back on after supper. Brooklyn comic artist Josh Neufeld's online webstrip AD: New Orleans After the Deluge is worth the strain. It's a simple blue-white-and-black depiction of the Katrina disaster and its aftermath, told from the perspectives of real people using their own dialog.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd like to see this published in book form after it wraps up at the end of 2007. But then it won't have the interactive element that only the internet can have - readers can leave comments under every panel.
