One also wonders what type of person would be inspired enough by Sarah Palin to go to Merriam-Webster to copy/paste the definiton of the word "Rogue" as a NOUN.

Interesting that you only copy and pasted what YOU wanted to, ignoring the rest of the definition of "rogue." Also, if you libbys can't stand Palin so much, why do you spend more time talking about her than her own supporters do? Just like most liberals, you are threatend by the truth she speaks and how she doesn't powder your asses like you want. If you read her book it gives you insight into what kind of person she is, all about her public service, and political career. She stands for efficient operation of government, individual freedoms, and individual excellence. She is not about taking your money you work hard for and giving it to the couch potatoe. She is an honest person unlike the Murkowski's and other corrupt people of the world. Little by little the government has been taking us furthur into debt and stealing our freedoms from us. Palin (as described in her book) has fought against this government assault on the American people. In my opinion the GOP did not want Mcain/Palin to win because they were afraid for their own skin! If they actually ran the campaign right then this party would have run and all the corrupt people that helped get them elected would have been gone. If it is not Palin then it needs to be someone with the same core values and policies. You are a fool if you want more government control over your life and more debt. You know what happens once your debt exceeds what you can pay? Do you manage your own finances that way? Do you know what happens if you do? Most companies won't hire you with bad credit, right? I borrowed the book and what I read between the lines told me more...FOR EXAMPLE....DO the math....she gives you dates...how MANY MONTHS after marriage was Track, her oldest born? She thinks YOU can't count. 8 months...there it IS in the book, written. HONEST??? Her platform is christian conservative family values!!! Do I CARE, NO, I don't, BUT that is HER PLATFORM, and she is dishonest about it. She's having you all on. That is what she chooses to represent, HER CHOICE...christian, straight laced preach to the others STUFF.

All the people I know agree that Sarah Palin has broken so many Commandments that there is no way that she believes that she is a Christian. Open your eyes--Sarah Palin is motivated by money, greed, criticism, and sees nothing as being wrong if she lies to get votes. Don't tell us about how she has such good family values! She uses scads of makeup and dresses up in her red jacket when it is cold and she has an audience to address or a book signing, but her child with Down syndrome is not dressed warmly and he is awakened at 5:30 a.m. or 11:00 p.m. to be the political prop. There are child labor laws about what hours a child can work--but Sarah uses him to get donations and more books sold. She lies over and over in her book--and doesn't think any of the readers will think for themselves about whether she is telling lies or not. Alaskans got fed up with her and 80% in a poll said they did not trust her. She had so few people come%2

If she was dishonest then she would have done dishonest things while in public positions. While she was holding public positions the FBI was very busy gathering evidence against a lot of dishonest politicians...she was obviously honest... she never when to jail. At least she had the courage to write a book to tell us about herself. I think all candidates for presidency or VP should write them before running. This would allow us all to actually get to know them before we made decisions to vote for them. Most people have jobs and only catch glimpses of candidates on TV or form opinions based on the media. I would rather hear it from the candidate in a book and also see an official resume. I would also like to see an official voting record along with policies the candidates have introduced or enforced. All of this should be in one book and verified by the FBI. That my friend would be transparent!! Then maybe we could get away from all this crap where the politicians tell you one thing to get elected then when you turn your head they do the opposite. We need some concrete change in our government... but you know America is still the best place in the world to live so there is something to be said for that:)

Out of sheer curiosity, I looked up the definition of rogue as well. The Merriam-Webster I have on the shelf has one definition for the word that I believe most aptly expresses the intention behind the comment made by the McCain staffer to her..."a vicious and solitary animal, as an elephant that has separated itself from its herd." The Republican party icon is the elephant, and Palin (if you read her book) apparently locked tusks with the McCain camp. In an intriguing way, McCain, who calls himself a maverick, chose a person who was even more of one than himself. I don't know if Palin has what it takes to be President, but I think she has certainly resonated with the American public because she is as far away, geographically (Alaska) and politically (rogue), as one can get from the corruption of Washington!

I find it very interesting that both sides spend so much time discussing Mrs. Palin.

I'm not sure why liberals spend so much time slamming her and conservatives spend so much time defending her. Currently she is just a ex-candiate for VP..a former governor and just a citizen. She can't do anything to effect any of our lives. Possibly down the road, she will try to become a part of the national debate..currently though she is little more than another paparazzi-chased so called celebrity and certainly doesn't deserve all the discussion..anymore than the latest lady gaga wardrobe change.

Sarah Palin is the most popular Republican politician and has attracted huge support among Americans. She could pose a serious challenge to Obama in 2012. That is why the liberals/leftists are paranoid about her and attack her with anything they can think of, no matter how silly the issue. There are several definitions of "rogue." One (from dictionary.reference.com) is, "no longer obedient, belonging, or accepted and hence not controllable or answerable; deviating, renegade." This fits better the intent of Palin's book title than what the dimwit tried to suggest in the post that motivated this exchange.

You know what I think about politics? Let us say hypothetically that gay marriage, abortion, and other morality issues were completely outlawed in our Constitution. Now-politicians would actually have to talk about real issues that concern the public and people would have to vote on the true issues rather than on religious morality. What would the Republican Party have to run on? They would not be able to convince the public to vote for them because they are the more "moral" party. Seriously, I don't truly like any of the parties here in the U.S. and I think that the youth of the U.S. are looking for someone other than old white men to run the country: these men no longer serve our purposes. Sarah Palin may not fit that bill, but she still has that old mentality.
It still bewilders me that the poor in our country wish to remain so by voting for Republicans who do not care about them or their plight. Why? Because the vote based on moral issues. Stupid Americans!!!

I have read Sarah Palin's book and cannot believe the difference between the information given in interviews and what is written in the book. It seems like Palin cannot remember what is true and what is her version and is now twisted so that she comes out looking better. I think the McCain advisors were smart when they suggested that maybe Palin was suffering from post partum depression. Anybody who has read the book but is also aware of actual events that were reported at the time they occurred has to wonder if Palin has mental problems and suffers from paranoia. It seems like the whole book was written by an angry, critical, negative, spiteful person who is so busy seeking public attention and filled with monetary greed that she has fogotten what it means to love your family or to be a Christian. She is consumed with self pity and playing the blame game and pointing fingers at everyone for her problems. There is no evidence throughout the entire book that she has gained any knowledge about the world we live in. She thinks that her good looks and folksy talk and her expensive clothing should make her qualified to be the ruler of our Country.

Clarice -- I don't know how deep you read the book, but everything stated in the book is verifiable. Her stance against ExxonMobil, her cutting property taxes in half, her delivering and honoring the Alaskan Constitution with regard to gay benefits and Alaskans being the owners of the states resources. She's simple and knows what is right and what is wrong. She wrote bills in laymans terms so the constituents wouldn't all have to hire attorneys before knowing whether or not to support them. She involved citizens in the crafting of bills having to do with important energy issues and locked horns with Republicans from the Murkowski administration AND the board of directors of ExxonMobil. She knew she was a public servant which is why she did these things along with giving up a luxury jet and a private chef.

We need simplicity and honesty. These alleged "intellectuals" are crafting bills that none of us have the time to read and go over with a fine toothed comb to understand. Liberals simply don't understand that with the Senate bill for heath care, they are now FORCED (even if they are young and healthy) to have health insurance or pay a fine. If you don't, you face jail time. Even though it isn't written that way, it's in there.

All these closed door Senate meetings and deals struck with various Senators like Nelson of Nekbraska are going hurt us.
