Fox News and Rush Limbaugh will have a hissy fit, but an
internal investigation of ACORN shows the national community-
organizing group has committed no criminal activity. They
might be slack, they might be too laid back, but they are not
criminals. ACORN has done great work for the poor and the
dispossessed in this country over the past 40 years. That's
why the Republicans hate them. Read the entire AP story

By Associated Press
Tuesday, December 8, 2009The community-organizing group ACORN said Monday that an internal investigation had concluded there was no criminal conduct by employees who offered advice on how to hide assets and falsify lending documents.
ACORN's chief executive described the report, by former Massachusetts attorney general Scott Harshbarger, as "part vindication, part constructive criticism and complete road map for the future."
In a 47-page assessment, Harshbarger said ACORN leaders "appear committed to effect reform and are on their way to preserving ACORN and its mission in a reduced size and scope." Harshbarger's report said that ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, should return to its roots, focusing on community organizing, and should hire an independent ethics officer to oversee an internal governance program that is underway.

Nothing like having a Fox check the hen-house for possible weaknesses, and report back to the farmer, "All's well!"
There were a number of reports out on Acorn before all this that examined the way Fox, Rush, Glen Beck - the usual goon squad framed it in particular the voter fraud non-issue. It was all typical Fox - make some kind of accusation - that sounds like serious factual stuff, delivered with the outrage - of say, a professional wrestler as they climb into the ring - and wait for the response from the audience - which might be canned, arcival footage from a related event, or reinforcement by any number of right wing nut jobs who are always seeking more screen time.
But, Fox News, Rush, Glen Beck, the Post and Courrier - who weighed in with their own editorial on the matter - will never mention or report the finding - which is their contribution to their journalistic fair and ballanced. It would be an admission that "you caught us - we made the whole thing up - and because Sean Hannity said it, then Glen Beck said it, then Rush, then Gretta - then gee whiz - who would have thought it never had any merit.
Fox news? Rush? Etc..

I could list pages of links but you get the idea, better yet type “ACORN and indictment” and see if its “just the right wing nut jobs.
I cant believe that there is no on the left that can be politically honest.
In other news, the guy next to me in line for traffic court reviewed his papers to find that, indeed, he "totally wasn't speeding." Just like me, as a matter of fact.
All those hidden camera interviews were fake also..lol.. Acorn a stain on groups that are doing good work.
I bet if Al Capone investigated himself.. some how.., some way.., he would find that he not do one thing wrong.
I looked at the video and thought it was pretty pathetic. The two kids who dressed up like a pimp and his ho might as well have been dressed up like Mickie and Minnie Mouse and have badgered that woman about buying a house for Pluto - so he could overthrown the government and get free Alpo. It is unfortunate she didn't throw them out - but like many people with difficult lives - they have a fundamental fear of white people who behave like punks demanding respect.
Now - do you think if I went into a Bank of America Bank on Meeting Street and was dressed like a Pimp - and brought a 19 year old girl from Ashley Hall dressed like a Ho - and asked the the teller what kind of advice she had for me so I could get a loan for my brothel/crack house - she wouldn't give me advice that's not that similar to what that elderly woman on the Acorn Video managed to get out? The difference would be negligible - the only difference would be Lou Dobbs soiling his depends as he commented on the whole sordid affair.
