Get ready for Round Two — minus Jim Cantore ringing the bell

Gov. Nikki Haley has declared another state of emergency and schools are announcing closings as ice and snow scrape across South Carolina toward the coast. Some areas of the state could get more than six inches of the white stuff.

Among the closings:

All county school districts and offices in Berkeley County. "No school events, practices or activities will take place tomorrow either on school grounds or off," a spokeswoman says. "District activities for today—including after-school care, after-school activities, and tonight’s Budget and Board meeting—are following a regular schedule. A decision on school for Thursday will be made tomorrow."

Dorchester District 2 and Dorchester District 4.

Orangeburg County School District 4 has announced school closings for Wednesday and Thursday.

In Williamsburg County, School District officials announced cancelations of extended programs for today, and closures for Wednesday and Thursday.

As of around 2 p.m., Charleston County School District hadn't made plans to alter tomorrow's schedule. “We have been monitoring the weather all day and will continue to monitor through the evening,” spokesman Jason A. Sakran says. “We will be operating under a normal schedule tomorrow.”

Haley's state of emergency declaration puts the National Guard on active duty to help state agencies that need it. The guard can also mobilize wrecker teams and four-wheel drive vehicles for use in storm response.
