Veronica - A Charleston family court on Wednesday finalized the adoption of Baby Veronica by Matt and Melanie Capobianco, but the case still faces legal hurdles (WaPo/AP) in Oklahoma and the U.S. Supreme Court before the three-year old heads back to Charleston. Chief Justice John Roberts said early this week that the Capobiancos have until Friday (SCOTUSblog) to file a response to an emergency request by Veronica's biological father to block the couple's adoption of his daughter and Native American groups have said (P&C) they will sue, alleging that the court violated Veronica's civil rights.
