Motorcycle clubs - A few weeks after a fatal shooting at a North Charleston motorcycle shop, members of local bike clubs say (P&C) that if the animosity between the sometimes-friendly groups isn't tamped down, more violence will result.

Miss Mount Pleasant - 23-year old law student Brooke Mosteller credited her family, coach and Taylor Swift (AP) after being crowned Miss South Carolina this weekend in Columbia.

Zimmerman - Asking folks outside the Meeting Street Piggly Wiggly on Friday what they thought about the George Zimmerman acquittal, the P&C found many who were surprised and unhappy over the verdict. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver and James Island native Roddy White ultimately apologized (SI.com) for a tweet critical of members of the jury, saying that he was "shocked and upset."

SC Schools - South Carolina's colleges and universities are the 7th-most expensive in the nation.

Late-night "Southern Charm" - South of Broaders are angry (P&C) over Bravo's plans to film in the neighborhood late at night, and have adopted rules to "reserve the beauty andintegrity of the neighborhood," including requesting a $1,000 donation to the neighborhood association per day for use of the area in filming.

Downtown shooting - Two men have been charged after a fatal shooting (P&C) Saturday night at the intersection of Meeting and Woolfe Street.
