70 years - Hundreds gathered (P&C) Sunday at the USS Yorktown to celebrate the WWII aircraft carrier's 70th birthday. (Live 5)

Baby Veronica goes to Washington - Parents on both sides (WaPo) of "Adoptive Couple v. Baby Girl," which originated in Charleston (P&C) and heads to the U.S. Supreme Court (Atlantic) on Tuesday, are both holding out hope that the Court will side with them, allowing them custody of 3 and a half-year old Veronica.

Jenny Sanford - Former S.C. First Lady Jenny Sanford told Roll Call on Friday that she has no plans to endorse in the 1st District congressional race where her ex-husband is making a bid for a political comeback.

Sickly Santorum - Rick Santorum was hospitalized in S.C. for a G.I. illness and dehydration over the weekend during a visit for his PAC.

Miss S.C. - 19-year old Upstate woman Analouisa Valencia (WYFF/CNN), who came out as gay in 9th grade, hopes to soon wear the crown of Miss South Carolina.
