Riley appears in gun control group's PSA
Charleston Mayor Joe Riley, one of the longest-serving mayors in the nation, appeared with a handful of other U.S. mayors in a new 90-second ad produced by the Michael Bloomberg-headed group Mayors Against Illegal Guns urging people to contact their lawmakers to urge adoption of gun control proposals.

Kuhn, Sanford campaign fight reaches boiling point at North Charleston forum
Former state Senator John Kuhn didn't hold back during a campaign forum in North Charleston Thursday, directly taking on former Governor Mark Sanford, promising in his closing statement, "I’ve never cheated on my wife, and I’m not going to."

NTSB releases report detailing 787 battery issues
A report released Thursday put the two fires that grounded Boeing 787s worldwide in a more serious light, explaining that they were difficult for firefighters to control as safety workers attempted to put out the battery fire through smoke so thick that they could not see the battery itself.
