Spoleto Festival auction opens for bidding today

Two tickets to Australia, please

There are still some tickets left to the big Spoleto Festival Auction on Fri. Feb. 1, but if you don’t want to cough up the $150 entry fee, you can just bid online. Granted, you won’t enjoy the thrill of a live auction, and you won’t have all of the same items to choose from, but there are plenty of choices online — and you can bid from the comfort of your couch. Proceeds from both events support the all-important Spoleto Festival Orchestra.

The online auction, which runs through Feb. 10, includes 47 total options at a range of price points. Starting on the low end, you can serve as an extra on Army Wives and receive a signed cast photo (leading bid $167), or you can get a Festival Finale package courtesy of Caviar & Bananas and Green Taxi of Charleston (leading bid $158). On the upper end, you can bid on an Australian vacay for two ($6,500) or a private dinner for 12 prepared by Chef Mike Lata ($2,667).

See the full list of items up for bid at spoletoauction.com. To buy tickets for Friday's event, go to spoletousa.org.
