all politicians make promises during the campaign that turn out to be unrealestic, once the full facts are knownbut we know that he is not the warmonger that Mr. Bush was so he must be an improvement. Its funny that if he ended the war tomorrow you would write a column about cutting and running or how he is giving up to the terroist or how America is less safe. Its obvious that you didnt vote for him but as a American you could try to support him instead of your own self-interest if we dont stand together we will fall together.
Let's see - you take your car to a mechanic who charges you $1,000, doesn't fix the problem, and screws up your engine worse.
So you go to a second one, who has to charge another $500 just to fix the first mechanic's mess. So you would blame the second mechanic for your problems? I'd say blame yourself for not doing your homework and choosing the right guy in the first place.
Your own political philosophy, which got us in this whole mess, is hated throughout the world, and has tipped our country into decline on multiple levels. Looking for something to be angry about? Look in the mirror.
Excellent point. I was surprised when I saw the link to this on Yahoo - in a liberal focused publication such as the City Paper you are a welcomed voice of reason. The other comments by the liberal readers emphasize the point that liberals 1) don't like to hear the truth and 2) will put a spin on anything to blame it on a conservative. Keep up the good work!!!

amazing 14 second clip moron. I'd love to challenge you to any kind of boxing or MMA fight for charity. Even more so, the money raised should go to wounded Veterans....I'd challenge you to a debate instead, but that could REALLY be humiliating for you, plus more people would pay to see punches instead of puns! I urge you for your own sanity to let go of that Right Wing.... It's broken beyond repair and makes fools look even more foolish. I promise there is no ladder left to climb on the Right, with exception of Dog Catcher!

Wow, just listen to what you people are saying. Chadaman, i challenge you to a shut the fuck up contest so the world will be a better place. Everyone who wants to criticize the Bush campaign and say it is the root of all the problems needs to really look at history. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Move to another country if you dont like this one. I'm guessing you are the type of people who think capitalism is evil too.
Last guy hit the nail on the head! 9/11 outrage, how could they let happen to us? We aren't sitting ducks like Clinton when our ship was hit, he did nothing. Bush went after those that attacked us like he should have. Would you rather fight them on US soil? Let them invade us? Blow us up to pieces? Bush stopped that. I don't like war no more than the next guy, but hey, there's been wars since the beginning of time and will be till the end of time. It's just the way it is. The Bible tells us about everything that is happening and the biggest war to come. Just better worry about your souls. Jesus is coming back soon. Maybe in our lifetime.

Well in a way I guess he told the truth maybe that is how he will spin it anyhow. He did not send anymore over that is how he pulled troops out when all the troops over there are killed because he did not send the backup then he can say he pulled out!!
What's also sad is how many people cannot have an honest intellectual debate without resorting to personal attacks and playground-style name calling. It just proves their lack of a sound argument.
The problems created by "W" continue to haunt us all and will for many, many years. Its too bad our politics have become so polarized that civil discourse gets drowned out by "sloganeering". We want solutions not rhetoric. Amazing how a guy who is president for less than eleven months is now responsible for greedy, self-serving hypocrits demonized by the dumb f's who elected "a loser" like "dubya".
Yes, to some extent the new boss bears similarities to the old boss, but you are a fucking poor conveyor of that insight. Our country has spent decades demonizing, subverting, and outright invading and occupying other nations. And Obama, who is not an especially strong leader, is supposed reverse all that in one year or two? I voted for him in the knowledge that he (and most "Democrats") was the far, far lesser evil available at the time.Perhaps Mr. Avenger would be happier and better paid on the P&C editorial staff.
ALL politicians are liars regardless of color. I believe it is impossible to be honest in a system as corrupt as ours. This country was built on lies and all of us have reaped benefits or suffered consequences of lying politicians. Unfortunately, the country will probably see its demise because of same.
You want the true, you can't handled the true. It takes a hero from South Carolina to tell the Prez that he lies.
To Thomas M, I must respectfully disagree. If you have been following Jack Hunter over the years, and the various influential personalities in the liberty movement, you will HAVE NOTED that they have been calling our presence in the middle east, ill conceived, expensive, unjust, meddlesome and just plain wrong. And they've been saying this for YEARS. You obviously are someone who is pretty shallow when it comes to politics and governance. Just go back to your tea and crumpets, cause you really don't have a clue. The mainstream media has brainwashed you into thinking along strict partisan lines. A significant number of Republicans are traditional conservatives, anti-war, pro-liberty, anti-Bush/Cheney....and equally there are a significant number of Democrats who are anti-Obama, anti-big government, ant-state. There huge undercurrents taking place. You have no idea. None.

It's time we called politicians on any side to account and urge them to keep their vows. The best way to do that is to remind people what they promised in the first place.
Stop beating up on the President. Obama has personally saved 40,000 lives by not deploying the requested reinforcements to Afghanistan. Those troops would have certainly died if they had been sent into a combat zone. Same logic used with all the jobs that have been "saved or created" by the bogus stimulus plan.
The secret to telling if a politician is lying to you is to closely watch their lips for any kind of movement. If the lips are moving - it's a lie.
