Lindsey Graham: I Won't Let Ron Paul Hijack the GOP

This isn't the best audio but more evidence of Sen. Lindsey Graham's complete dismissal of Ron Paul's adherence to rigid constitutional government. Notice in the first video that instead of addressing the woman's criticism head on, Graham simply asks her who she voted for in the presidential election. When she replied "Chuck Baldwin" Graham then attempts to marginalize her based on her support for the Constitution Party, slamming Ron Paul in the process.

The following took place 10/12/09 at a town hall meeting in Greenville, SC:

Ron Paul responds:

That says it all. More people are learning the true colors of Miss Lindsey.

I should probably listen to the clips before commenting, but it seems to me that Ron Paul has spent his entire career trying to UN-hijack the GOP and get it back to its roots, where it belongs.

Graham is such a joke in so many ways. He's the kind of guy I'll vote AGAINST.

If Lindsey Graham is what the Republican Party looks for in it's next round of national leadership, the Democrats have little fear from the Grand Old Party. He is truly representative of the past 20 years of Republican persona and as such should never be allowed to portray the Republican vision for the next ten years.
I have never been a fan of Ron Paul. He does not seem willing to stick to his label and practice what he calls himself. If he is to champion the Libertarian cause, let him be Libertarian. If his platform is interesting, I might lend my support or I might not. Pragmatic conservative politics at this point should focus on countering any damage the Obamunists inflict on the country and it's economic heritage. That requires supporting what can seriously defeat them rather than losing as a pure ideologue.

I do not think Graham is going to carry any weight whatsoever nationally at this point.

From what I understand Graham is also working on a compromise of this hideous Cap and Trade bill. I don't agree with everything from Ron Paul, but I admire his principled stand. We need more principled limited government representatives in both houses. Principled is something Lindsay Graham is not.

Lindsey sure hates being exposed for what he really is. A war mongering, deficit spending , mean -spirited, party over country, loser.

Lindsey, Where are our tarp funds you gave away to the banks last fall no questions asked?

Do us all a favor and don't come back to South Carolina.

"I have never been a fan of Ron Paul. He does not seem willing to stick to his label and practice what he calls himself. If he is to champion the Libertarian cause, let him be Libertarian. "

I also don't 100% agree with him - I don't 100% agree with anybody. But the framing of the GOP today is completely skewed vs. what it originally stood for. There was a time with the GOP was not anti-intellectual, and when it actually did stand for real, limited, Constitutional gov't. It doesn't now, it doesn't even come close to that, it's a bloated money-hungry party of hangers-on just like the Democratic party.

So the problem is, Ron Paul wants to return it to its roots. The framing has become so off-center that what was once Republican is now described as Libertarian. I think that's what he's getting at. The label in today's politics closest to his belief system is probably Libertarianism, and it's a sad thing that belief in a true limited gov't is marginalized into a 3rd party today.

He sure dances across the stage. Maybe he subscribes to the "moving target" theory when facing constituents. There's something wrong there, folks. He acts scared. He is afraid of something and is doing what someone is telling him to do... Hope some smart ones out there do some investigating and digging into what is causing his actions... somethng is very very scary with this situation. Who do you think has something on him? Somebody must have gotten something on him to control him... we hired him and it is our business to find out... as a Senator, who does he talk to, who does he meet, who is he in contact with... Sure he won't step aside, he is a tool and cannot. Find out who wants the USA to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan and who wants the USA to squeeze Iran. That's a start, because he is pushing that agenda. This guy is unreal.

Lindsey Gaham is a sociopath, plain and simple.

Gaham supports Gaham no matter what. He is narcissistic and power hungry.

The man-girl does not have a spine. People with principles make him pucker--or maybe there's something else going on there.

I just dashed off this comment to Lindsey on his website:

I think it was both very brave and intelligent of you to publicly disparage the US Constitution and its modern-day supporter Ron Paul in your statements of October 12th. It is good to know that your standards of propriety exceed those of 20 or so of the Nation's Founders, which were worked out over the course of a few years in Revolutionary days. History will remember that you were among the outspoken giants who said we should effectively trash the guiding thoughts of our nation's first 110 years. Similarly, you are absolutely right that any candidates who cite the Constitution during a campaign are just plainly out of step with reality. I hope your audience took your high-minded thinking to heart. Any voter falling for that balderdash SHOULD be publicly embarrassed. Good for you.

NATIONAL LENS — TERROR COURTS — “Senate Republicans are pushing a provision aimed at blocking the Obama administration from trying in U.S. civilian courts anyone accused of plotting the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks,” according to The Hill. “An amendment by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) would ‘prohibit the use of funds for the prosecution in Article III courts of the United States of individuals involved in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.’ Graham and others want the suspects tried instead in a military commission at the U.S. prison in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, raising a variety of concerns that civilian courts are ill-equipped for such high-stakes trials involving potential national security secrets.”

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston County GOP Executive Committee said Tuesday that it’s voted unanimously to censure Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham for "his failure to represent the wishes of the people of South Carolina."

At its November meeting, the Executive Committee said it was disappointed in Sen. Graham for his work on a bipartisan "Cap and Trade" energy bill, along with his positions on multi-billion dollar bank bailouts and amnesty for illegal aliens.

In a statement Tuesday, Chairwoman Lin Bennett said, "Charleston County Republican voters have grown increasingly frustrated with Sen. Graham and his voting record, which are frankly out of step with the beliefs of Republican voters.

This vote should not surprise any of us. What this shows us is that Charleston County Republicans are demanding better from Senator Graham."
