Jack Hunter: "Deranged Blogger," Possibly Gay

Posted by Jack Hunter on Tue, Jul 14, 2009 at 12:26 PM

Radio talk host and New York Times bestselling author Mark Levin has seen fit to add me to his list of “deranged bloggers” at marklevinshow.com, heralding my arrival into his hall of shame with the following description: “Charleston City Paper’s First Lady, Jackie Hunter.”

Never mind that I was always called “Jackie” anyway as a child (my mother still calls me this), as was my father and grandfather (both were also named “Jack Hunter.” My grandmother called Dad “big Jackie” and me “little Jackie.”)

But I’m much less interested in the sticks-and-stones aspect of Levin’s posting than what he actually posted, when he posted it and why.

As to when and why, if you Google the words “tyranny,” “liberty” and “Levin,” somewhere between Amazon.com, townhall.com and David Limbaugh’s links to Levin’s book, you will also find a link to my recent Taki’s Magazine feature “The Tyranny of Mark Levin’s ‘Liberty” on the first page. Something tells me he might have noticed this. Something also tells me Levin probably didn’t like it and this is the most logical explanation for why I would end up on his little enemies list at this point in time.

But Levin did not link to my piece at Taki’s. Instead Levin linked to a September, 2007 article on “blowback” from the Charleston City Paper. Posting this is completely random. It doesn’t even mention Levin.

I completely understand why my piece on the so-called “great one” might have touched a nerve. I also understand why Levin wouldn’t want to give my article any extra exposure. I wouldn’t want to promote what makes me look bad either.

Interesting. Instead of attempting to refute either the reasoning or the evidence it is based on, Levin attacks his opponent without naming any particular reason.

I note that you don't deny his charges.

You are so ridiculous, Mr. Hunter.

I can't help but ridicule you each time you write an article. You are the butt of many of my jokes.

Please keep the dribble coming. Without you, my comedic material is sparse.

I would not call myself a fan of Jack Hunter, nor do I often agree with his opinions, but I found his critique of Mr. Levin's book to be well-thought out and evenhanded. The fact that Mr. Levin's only defense is to insinuate that Mr. Hunter is effeminate is pathetic, but not surprising.

Just read your Levin takedown.
Fine piece, except...early in your critique you call him "glaringly blind" about the Iraq War, post-war. Later, in another context, you say "were he honest.."
My friend, you got it right the second time about the first subject. Levin isn't glaringly blind; he's a Zionist dual loyalist. And he's still holding out hope the Iraq War was good-For Israel.

Jack-
You consistently write well thought out, intelligent articles and I look forward to reading them each week. Levin obviously has some serious problems with his own psyche if he's labeling others as gay in a written piece. It's childish to say the least.
Keep writing and I'll keep reading.

PS I know Paleo Pat is a blogger that supports you as well but his comments above are just as if not more dispicable than Levin's. He consistently shows his true colors as a equal opportunity hatemonger.

File a lawsuit.
He called you deranged and gay.
Which, for gays, was an insult too.
So he is using it in an inflammatory way.

Apparently overt profanity and racism is condoned by CP. Any other Jews offended by PaleoPat's indefensible rant and the "tweren't nuthin'" support of his bosom buddy Pete?

A couple of things:

One, we've been hit by a rash of anti-Semitic comments, which followed shortly after we posted a profile of Rocky D of WTMA.

Two, by allowing these comments to stand, two things are accomplished: one, these folks are revealed to be the asshats that they are, and two, you begin to get a clearer picture of some of the motivations of those who are currently affiliated with a political group or who have adopted a particularly fashionable political trend. (Um, Teabaggers and others.)

Asshats or not, Tea-baggers or not, it's flat-out wrong, Chris. I don't think the picture needs to get any clearer. While Levin's response to Jack Hunter was patently insensitive to gays, allowing stone-cold idiots to post blatantly anti-Semitic screeds does not amount to a healthy exchange of views. Letting such comments stand simply encourages others to see if they can be equally offensive.

Hey, let me retort: You're full of shit and you're so full of shit that it's dribbling out of your Zionist-worshiping mouth. Why does the Jew have this hypnotic power over so many Americans (and virtually everybody in the media)?

As for Levine, "dual loyalty" would actually be improvement over his present patriotic sentiments. That Jew is an Israeli-firster.

Chrishaire,

Allow me to correct you, the tea parties are for more limited government - not what Levin is spewing from his ass. Do not mistake what the tea parties are for simply because you probably only get information from the left or really mainstream media.

Currently there are four parties on my radar right now, six total. The socialist right, neo-cons, conservatives (like Jack here), libertarians, moderate liberals, socialist left. The party line doesn't involve capitalism and socialism, it involves socialistic right, capitalism, and socialistic left. The free market is the center. Why, because it represents true power to the individuals within a nation. Anything deviating from that involves more government involvement (higher national security typically for the right, higher welfare hand-outs typically for the left).

The socialist right could be encompassed by people like Mussolini - who created corporatism through putting unions as the forefront (our current GM model) and tried to expand the nation through force. The neo-cons are people like GWB and Rush/Lewis, acting like they are conservatives but in reality are not. Then there are the actual conservatives who believe in free market aspects but typically favor traditional values (An example would be that they oppose the unionization of states). Libertarians who believe in a free market but typically favor the ability to evolve as a nation through highly free market roots (regulating pollution via making it private property is a good example). Von Hayek is a good example of a libertarian. Moderate left would be someone like Obama who, again, attempt to campaign the libertarian "power to the people" values but really don't because they use socialism to do it (socialism only stagnates an economy, which is why typically most people on welfare get into welfare traps). Typically they divert spending away from expanding the empire of security to expanding the welfare state (although Obama hasn't really stopped the spending in the "liberation Iraq" sector yet). Then finally the far left of putting absolute power to the nation, of course through its supposedly people. Communist Russia and Lenin is a good example of this. So typically I see only four systems currently in place.

I implore you to get your facts straight. Understand what the tea party is truly about, bringing us back to our center and making us a creditor nation, before simply condemning them as the evil and ignorant simply because MSNBC tells you to do so.

Furthermore,

The only thing close to a real laizze-faire system today is Hong Kong. They support incredible levels of free trade with very limited government involvement. Almost all of their welfare is based on national trade. It has held the number one spot on the "most free" list for the past fifteen years. Hong Kong has the third highest standard of education. Their average life expectancy is around 85 years. Finally their average household GDP rivals that of the entire nation of the United States.

"Radical" laissez-faire indeed...

A common argument from the far left is that the people in the market place are irrational and the only way to create a stable economy is to involve government in the trading of every day life. "Don't worry, the government will take care of you." This is what we are looking at when we talk about bailouts and national health-care.

The rebuttal to that, due to individual opportunity costs, it is impossible for the government to judge each and every individuals' wants and needs objectively and as a whole because each and every person's wants and needs are all met with individual and subjective values. You, me, everyone, we are all different (even if only on a slightly different level) with different wants and needs. Thereby, government involvement of bringing the unconscious actions of the market into conscious light through socialism is only irrational.

For a basic example: Can any of you predict, to a tee, the "next big thing" in the market? I highly doubt it and the same goes for the government and all the top financial advisers.

But now I'm going offtopic and on a tangent. I'll stop now.
