Another Democratic Congressional Seat For S.C.?

Estimates continue to suggest that South Carolina will have a seventh congressional district after the next census. Robert Behre goes in depth on the potential location of this new district in today's P&C, but he doesn't delve too deep into the politics of it.
Two parts of the article worth repeating:
1. Horry County conservatives want to break off from the Charleston district.
2. The state's lead researcher notes that most of the growth is happening on the coast.
If the new district breaks Horry from Charleston and focuses on the coast, it could mean a progressive Republican or Democratic district in the Charleston area. Charleston was a big win for Democrats in November's election.
