Local Secular Humanists will be launching a new billboard campaign today on I-26 near Spruill Ave.

From their site:

"We have not intention of "converting" believes to non-believers with our campaign. Some people may be offended by our message, but that isn't our purpose either. Instead, we simply want those who do not believe in a supernatural being to know that there is a happy and welcoming community of other like-minded people. If you are one, please join us … and consider letting your family, friends, colleagues, and community know you area  proud freethinker. This would help us with our other goal of helping to make our religious friends and neighbors more comfortable with and tolerent of our religion-free worldview."

I was so happy when I saw this. Just today I saw a bumper sticker that stated in bold red letters "Christians are not perfect, just FORGIVEN." I laughed then sighed that that meant I was not forgiven by Christians for being an atheist. Oh well. I look forward to seeing the billboard

There’s a community of people out there who don’t believe in a supreme being? Oh my God, what’s next alcohol sales on Sunday?

I'm looking forward to the response... "Yes you are. And you're going to burn for eternity."

Wow Snead that's pretty judgmental of you. How many atheists in prison? How much blood has been shed in the name of the lord?
