Sanford Apparently Anxious To Hit 10 Percent Unemployment

Posted by Greg Hambrick on Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 10:53 AM

When he's not ignoring or disputing unemployment numbers, S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford is looking for ways to derail a $775 billion federal stimulus plan. Considering South Carolina has one of the worst unemployment rates in the nation, one would think we'd be well-positioned to receive a good portion of the job-creation dollars proposed within the plan. That is, if our elected representatives could spend a little less time talking down the proposal and a little more time ensuring that South Carolina gets the aid it needs to put people to work.
