Another Carriage Accident Downtown

Posted by Greg Hambrick on Wed, Oct 22, 2008 at 4:27 PM

A carriage driver was taken to the hospital Oct. 18 with minor injuries after a startled carriage horse ran between two parked cars, throwing her from her sea.

Emily Morgan, an employee of Classic Carriage, told police that rubber around a carriage wheel came off and it startled the horse. The animal then made a dash between two parked cars, tipping over the carriage and sending the driver to the ground. The report notes she had minor head injuries and was taken to MUSC. Another vehicle had minor damage to the front bumper.

Officers only noted that the horse was agitated.

City Paper noted two carriage accidents within days of each other earlier this year.
