Drug-Addled, Gun-Toting Pauper Moves to S.C.

Today's news of the weird comes from Scranton, Pa., where Tobias Ross plead guilty to entering a federal building with a gun. When approached, he falsely claimed to be a U.S. Marshall.
(Public Defender Leo) Latella told U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Blewitt that Mr. Ross was undergoing financial difficulties and experimenting with drugs when the incident occurred.“It’s an aberration in an otherwise law-abiding life,” Mr. Latella said.
But Judge Blewitt asked Mr. Ross about a similar incident at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Building in Washington, D.C., which happened prior to the Scranton incident.
“It was the same,” Mr. Ross admitted, calling it a cry for help. “I was, I guess, out of my mind. I wasn’t using good judgment.”
Ross now says he's undergoing treatment. The court gave him five years probation, checking in with federal probation officers in Charleston.
