City Paper In the News

While S.C. is loving its no-lovin' educational programs, a story in The State today notes that some local officials are ditching the state's abstinence-only buddy. The story notes that the City Paper was ahead of the curve on this one.

The Charleston City Paper wrote about nonprofit Heritage’s ties to a for-profit company that produces its materials. Both Heritage and the for-profit company are headed by Anne Badgley and employ her family members, according to the newspaper.

Someone should check out the close relationship that Anne Badgley has with Charleston County School officials, too. Her organization, Heritage, makes claims about its recent success at Brentwood Middle School yet CCSD has not official relationship with the program. CCSD's facilities director, Bill Lewis, is her next door neighbor and he was in charge of the US Naval hospital in N.Chas. when Badgley was contracted to run her no-lovin' program there, too. As they, "Follow the money!"
