Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and films can be too. Which is convenient since two local filmmakers will present Movies From the Heart, a screening of two shorts, over Valentine’s Day weekend. On Sun. Feb. 16, Karen DeLoach and Cynthia Pulsifer will screen Chords and Eileen’s Journey at Cinebarre.
Summerville’s DeLoach’s Chords features a struggling musician who woos a troubled pastor’s daughter. Given that it's about a musician and screening around Valentine's Day, love and music are prominent themes in the short.
Pulsifer, from West Ashley, made the faith-based Eileen’s Journey. The 35-minute film follows Eileen, a woman going through a mid-life crisis as she embarks on a trip to see if she can learn to put her trust in God.
The screening is free. For more information, visit facebook.com/moviesfromtheheart.
