Local filmmakers begin production of S.C. Indie Grant funded project

Caffeniated dreams

Sometimes you have to sneak around to make your dreams come true. That's been the case with Ed Tilden and Henry Snyder, two local filmmakers who have had to call on the good nature of their friends to create their films. But times they are a changing. Tilden and Snyder received funding from S.C. Indie Grants and will be shooting their short — and paying their cast and crew. They've also obtained the necessary permits and have employed their film industry buddies to work. But they're given the opportunity to work a couple of levels above. "Our director of photography, for instance, generally works as a grip or electrician, as does our gaffer," says Snyder. The short — with a working title of Coffee Date — will begin filming on Sun. Jan. 12 and continue through Tues. Jan. 14. And they may still need some extras. A Facebook post said they were looking for "three stand-ins who are available to work this Sun. Jan. 12, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. [We] need two Caucasian males (dark hair color) and one African-American male 18-30 years old. Would prefer guys who are slim and anywhere 5'7" to 6'." The stand-ins will get $25 for the day and some free lunch. If you fit the bill, email with the subject line "Coffee Date Stand-In."
