, about two lonely people in a foreign land who strike up a meaningful friendship. The Regional Spotlight award, which goes to filmmakers in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, went to Charleston’s own Hopeless Romantic
, a tale of a guy who lives and breathes bikes — and nothing else — until he meets a girl who helps him come out of his shell. And the Audience Award went to Beast
, a dark Danish film about an abusive father whose son tries to force him into apologizing for his actions.
Each winner received $150, a one-year license for the editing suite Lightworks, and a lifetime membership to Scripped, a free online screenwriting software service.
