Twelve days ago, the first named storm of the hurricane season had yet to form. Today, Arthur is gaining strength and headed toward the North Carolina coast.

Twelve days ago, Hobby Lobby was required to offer contraception as part of their employee health plans. Today, the anti-semitic big boxer is celebrating a Supreme Court victory.

Twelve days ago, the 16th season of Big Brother had yet to premiere. Today, the fourth episode will air.

Twelve days ago, Latta Police Chief Crystal Moore was out of a job after the town's mayor apparently fired her because she was gay. Today, she's back at work after the town voted to strip the mayor of his power.

Twelve days ago, 19-year-old Denzel Curnell died following a struggle with a Charleston Police Department officer. Today, the body investigating the shooting, SLED, has not yet released a report on the matter while the CPD and Mayor Riley continue to offer hollow assurances that the officer will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Make of that what you will.
