I never thought this day would come. Hell, I never even thought it was possible. But I agree with Ann Coulter, and it scares the living shit out of me.
I mean, if I was a unicorn, I would have dropped a baker's dozen of sprinkle-covered sugar cookies in my britches the second I heard that Coulter was bashing Newt Gingrich for more or less being a boastful little bigot who was putting the needs of his own morbidly obese ego over the needs of his party — and his country.
Here's what the high propagandess of the Republican Party had to say on Fox and Friends about the serial adulterer from Georgia:
"Having a candidate who calls Obama a Kenyan colonialist or socialist, that is not what you need, and at the same time, with Newt Gingrich you get the name calling for the president, very popular with the tea party crowd, not so popular with independents, and, he won’t put a fence on the border but wants amnesty for illegals and took 1.6 million from Freddie Mac and he attacked Paul Ryan’s plan on Social Security and with Newt Gingrich you throw out the baby and keep the bath water!”
And Newt wasn't alone in drawing Ann's ire. So too were the good GOPers in South Carolina:
“Apparently, South Carolinians would rather have the emotional satisfaction of a snotty remark toward the president than to beat Obama in the fall.”
Wow. Just wow. I mean, ... ooh a sugar cookie. Wait a second that's just a Girl Scout cookie.
Anyhow, I'm as shocked as Coulter that South Carolinians went for Newt. With the election of Tim Scott and Nikki Haley, I thought we had put the days when a race-baiting tub of fryer fat like Gingrich could rally the Southern Strategy wing of the Republican. But I was wrong.
Evidently, all you have to do is proudly call the nation's first African-American commander in chief a "food stamp president" and accuse Fox News contributor Juan Williams of being the type of person to whom work is an alien concept. Now you can either read bigotry into that last bit there or not. It's your call. But it's clear to me exactly what Newt was saying: Juan Williams is a lazy black man just like all the other members of his shifty race.
However, when it comes down to it, Newt's not-so-subtle racist jabs may have won him South Carolina, but they probably won't win him the GOP nomination, no matter how much Gingrich's Palmetto State fans want to see him put that uppity Obama in his place on national TV.
And if that happens, South Carolina's importance in future GOP primary races will be in jeopardy. We'll be just another a small state that picks also-rans and fringers on the way to the first true-blue Republican primary contest, Florida, the place where voters pick presidents.

Newt is not a perfect man, made mistakes and for sure has his flaws as all of us do. However, what people are not getting is that Newt has the courage to take a stand, show some backbone and is very articulate in doing so. For far too long we have put republicans in office who envaribly ended up bowing to liberal ideaology and quite frankly many of us are tired of feeding the wimpy republicans that don't have the courage to lead on conservative principles. They are partly to blame for the mess we are in now by not standing for conservative values and caving in to the dems. You have Bush republicans and Regan Republicans - big difference. Newt is a Regan republican.
What you are seeing in Newt's overwhelming support is that we finally have a conservative that has the backbone to call it like it is. The Rhino republicans are in full panic mode - so are the dems because they do not want to have Newt debate Barack Hussein Obama. Pretty easy to figure the outcome on that one. The assault on Newt will be withering and people need to understand what is behind the attacks - the soul of America is hanging in the balance with this national election. Everyone will need to make a choice for a free republic or a government controlled society, where the government picks the winners and losers.
As for the race baiting - total nonsense. Newt is not race baiting - but the liberal media is fanning those dishonest flames. That are very adept at the art of class warfare and only the ignorant and intellectual lazy minded people will follow that and the media is counting on them to stay ignorant and intellectually lazy.
Oh yea- Ann Coulter? She dated Bill Maher - need I say more.
The Republican Party needs fundamental change more towards Tea Party fiscal responsibilities. Newt can do it, Mitt might do it... I think Newt as president would shape up to be another Ronald Reagan and get the country back to better policies and politics. He may have a big ego but he is a strong worker and pushes for great ideas that would reform our political base. He is a better thinker and listens better than any of the candidates to date. Mitt? He's is just a bit too high level for me. More rhetoric and he has fewer real answers to the real issues.
"Yes, they can trot out Tim Scott, and Tim Scott will shuck and jive like they ask. He's good at that. And they can call Nikki Haley to the stage to dazzle the sideshow crowd like she's an exotic beauty from the Orient who will give you a lap dance for a dollar."
I'd still like to see how you defend those comments as being anything else but racist?
You can claim its some kind of humor (not funny) and you can point fingers at others but seems as if you have some issues in your own to work out.
It would seem that the GOP in SC equate strength and leadership with anger and hostility. Newt tapped into those baser instincts of the SC electorate with his 'bully on the playground' attitude and rude, unnecessary assault on the media. Newt uses an old debate tactic of 'kill the messenger' when presented with an inconvenient question. By ridiculing the question and the questioner he gets a pass on actually answering. Its a method of trickery and deception which worked well among South Carolinians who voted with emotion rather than common sense.
Do you really want a President who must provoke anger and divisiveness to get elected? Hitler was brilliant at this strategy which ultimately persuaded the German people to slaughter 6 million of their countrymen and start a World War which took the lives of 60 million people worldwide. History has demonstrated that appealing to the baser instincts of a large group of people promotes division and destruction of morality. It rips apart the fabric of society and replaces it with fear and loathing.
Newt couldn't even lead his own party during his tenure as Speaker of the House. His bombastic, selfish, arrogant behavior resulted in his removal from his position and his seat in Congress by his own republican colleagues. The Presidency is the highest and most important diplomatic office and little else. The President cannot pass laws, only recommend or veto. We need a President who can articulate America's position and interests to government leaders abroad as well as command their respect and cooperation. What we definitely do not need is someone like Newt whose insulting, haughty demeanor will alienate even further our allies as well as enemies. He has neither the temperament nor intelligence to represent America, a fact which is well-known among GOP leaders. Newt's win in SC only served to prolong the circus of the GOP Presidential primaries.
Why the Elite establishment wants Mitt Romney to Rule . Its all part of the Plan it gives Cover to the Democrats as the Republicans are Blamed for the Collapse of Liberty and the destabilization causes a world to find security by forging a One World Legion

Being born and raised in the wonderful Palmetto state, I was disheartened that Newt won over our state. People really need to get their facts straight before heading to the polls.
Newt is a bloviating 'dough boy'....and an ego that surpasses everyone's and I mean everyone. He scares the heck out of me.....with his constant ramblings and its everyone's else's fault that his was adulterer, kicked out of congress etc, etc...He is milking the 'victim' line and its coming to the end.....
Newt is scarey and I need calm action not someone on the edge of screaming and complaining about everyone else. He is on the edge....scarey, scarey....
One more thing.....
I am trying to understand the somewhat liking of Newt because he speaks well. Oh yeah, just like Obama - he speaks well. Have we not learned that you have to vote based on how a person lives his life. Now sit back and compare the candidates: Rick, Newt, Mitt and Ron. Which one would you like to represent you as our President....that person with your values, your vision, your desire to have a better life, provide you with security for your family. Now look again - who can make that happen - the only person I know that has all those things is Mitt. I want someone that is at least 60-80% conservative. I want him steering the country in the right direction. We will lose with a conservative that is 90% or more - they will drive us off the cliff. This country only has 30% conservatives. We need the independents to get on board and then we need to convince them that being conservative is the best way, but first we have to win the election.
Everyone voted for a smooth talker last election....can we afford to do it again.
Th Guy with the real Big Ego is now in the WH, and the One who doesn't know anything about Governing is in the WH.; at least newt did GET BOTH SIDES WORKING TOGERTHER. and Did help balance the Budget. and help create How many jobs ? can any of you number them ? . and That 300,000 wasn't a fine like the media has let on it was. and 84 of the charges against newt were dropped by the Congress. And pelosi doesn't have anything against Newt like she said the other day.
Did you know Newt's Moon Colony idea is Very valuable ????
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94rEqHP9dOQ
There are far cheaper ways to acquire helium 3 than to mine it on the moon.
Radioactive decay of tritium, for one.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helium-3
I've been a fan of science fiction all of my life, so I don't lightly say that space is fit only for machines, not humans.
we can setup a self contained launching pad from the moon ran on helium 3 and build a great voyager to go to Mars and those other planets just Identified
You mean the ones around other stars? That are light years away?
Meaning many many decades away?
Mars is like the moon, a useless rock in space.
I don't like Gingrich, so I thought yours a reasonable commentary, until you got to the Juan Williams bit. Gingrich did NOT "accuse . . . Juan Williams of being the type of person to whom work is an alien concept." That is not what he said nor implied. Then you emphasize your lie with "But it's clear to me exactly what Newt was saying: Juan Williams is a lazy black man just like all the other members of his shifty race." There is not a shred of truth in your accusation that Gingrich was directing his comments at Williams personally, but then of course, race baiting and racists accusations are a Liberal's favorite tools.
What sort of message is Newt trying to send to our nation's youth?
"Dream big and colonize the moon?"
That's not PC.
"You can't make it without a big government handout" sounds much more inspirational, don't you think?
Newt is finished, tonight's debate was the end of him. As they would say in Blazing Saddles, Will Moredock is right.
Next two Gingrich headlines:
Gingrich drops out of Republican Primary.
Newt Gingrich dead, was House Speaker.
Putemup: You most likely are not a minority or an African American and do not care about them or you would recognize Newt's condescending, mean-spirited insults as they are: indirect racist attacks on President Barack Obama and direct attacks on anyone else who is black and/or poor, including innocent defenseless children. All of the politician's nasty verbal attacks...about the food stamp president, lazy black people who would choose food stamps over jobs (when there are not enough jobs!) and illegally employing poor black children to work as janitors in their schools...add up to one thing: an UGLY BLOVIATING HATE MONGERING RACIST BULLY. These coded covert and not-so-covert insults and attacks do nothing to help black or white Americans. The Grinch's campaign platform is full of racial resentment and inaccuracies. For example, more whites than blacks applied and qualified for food stamps. And whose fault is it that we have so many poor and hungry white, black and hispanic citizens? Whose party during 2000 and 2008 ruined our economy, wasted so much taxpayer treasure and military lives on unnecessary destructive murderous wars, sharply increased the national deficit, caused the deep recession in 2007, and lost so many American jobs in 2008? As a native born citizen with Anglo Saxon, American Indian and African American blood, I resent and reject Gingrich's hurtful, untruthful, divisive statements on personal, professional and human levels. No one can choose their ethnicity, and no one should make value judgments about the inherited, natural ethnicity of others. Gingrich's opinions, because he certainly doesn't know the definition of facts, are invalidated by his hate. Pandering to an extremist wing of the Republican party in various southern states may help him in those places temporarily, but the national electorate will easily understand his intentions and not buy his despicable brand of trashy race-baiting politics.
