Man, I must be getting old.
Seriously, the guys helping Nikki Haley run her campaign look like, well, kids. Like they have High School Musical on DVD. Like they watched SpongeBob religiously, but not in the snicker-snicker-pass-the-bong-dude sort of way of post-grads and young pros. Like they still carry lunchables. What the hell?
Of course, that's not all that important. What's important here is the way that Tim Pearson, Nikki Haley's campaign manager, blocked a reporter from Spartanburg's WSPA from asking the gubernatorial candidate a question. The reason: Nikki had an appointment ... in Charlotte. For those of you who don't know, Charlotte is in North Carolina, which is, um, not where Nikki is running for governor.
OK. That was a bit disingenuous. I'll admit it. See, unlike Charleston, Greenville, Columbia, and Spartanburg, Rock Hill doesn't really have a network TV station, so all of their local TV news comes out of Charlotte.
Speaking of Haley, be sure to check out this week's news feature on the ongoing rumors about Nikki Haley. The alleged paramour count is up to four.
Anyhow the video in question is below. Watch and enjoy.

I could care less who she sleeps with or if she doesn't talk to reporters.
I DO care about how she could purchase a $300,000 house, a $100,000 line of credit and a $50,000 SUV on a family income of $40,000. I DO care that even Republicans are having to hold their noses to vote for her out of party loyalty. I DO care that she's burned bridges with the SC legislature just like Mark Sanford. I DO care that she wants to raise taxes on groceries to pay for corporate tax cuts. I DO care that she has waffled on support for public schools. I DO care that she was paid $40,000 for "access" from a company that she did not disclose till the 12th hour during the primaries. I DO care that she looks at the same failed policies of our current governor as a means to lead us into the future.
Frankly, as an accountant, I wouldn't trust her to balance MY checkbook, much less, the state of South Carolina's!
fact....it IS a big deal when a family income is $40k and they incur that kind of debt w/o becoming beholding to the lender and/or there are shady dealings going on somewhere.
FYI, her "state official" pay is $10,400 a year.
(P.S. SHE is the stated accountant, and apparently financial genius, not me.)
Goodkarmasc, talk around town says she skimmed her family's business. Don't know for sure. The conservatives around town do NOT like her. I am a republican who will be voting for Sheheen, as opposed to the fox in the hen's house.
In my opinion, Haley seems like a sexual addict and a pathological liar. The two are serious disorders and and forms of mental illness. Maybe she will find help. Therapy helps many, but not all.
IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, ASK HER ABOUT ANY OF THESE BILLS SHE SPONSORED:
This is RIDICULOUS!
Who can and who cant shampoo your hair, Primary sponsor, Nikki Haley! http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess117_2007-2…
I'm no fan of homeowner's associations. This bill may still suck though.
Nikki Haley is the Primary Sponsor to break contracts with your home owners associations http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess117_2007-2…
This is TYRANNY! Probably unconstitutional
She co-sponsored a bill that would delete many SC elections! http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess117_2007-2…

Nikki Haley co-sponsored this: TO PROVIDE THAT MIRANDA RIGHTS

Somebody has some sense!
This bill was so bad, it was never even given a sub-committee hearing. http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess116_2005-2…
Wow. The above comments place Nikki Haley squarely on the opposite side from the SC Legislature. That, I might inject, is the same SC Legislature that has been on a barry soetoro-esque spending spree for YEARS, even though Nikki Haley and only a handful of legislators tried in vain to rein in the spending. . . with warnings of dire economic repercussions that [gasp] HAVE COME TO PASS!!!!
THAT, my friend, is why the non-conservative SC legislators DO NOT LIKE HER, and do not like someone upsetting their little boys' club.
I have news for them. Nikki Haley isn't the ONLY one that is upsetting your boys' club . . . get a load of the primary results.
(Dare we forget the pig in the capitol building?) oink, oink. It's time to pay the piper.
And to you "republicans" who are going to vote for a "never-enough-government-to-suit-me" democrat . . . look in the mirror. There is a liberal in sheep's clothing staring back at you.
OK, Darlene. What has your legislature been spending money on? I'm patient. I can wait.
Go ahead, look it up if you can. Post the details.
Knarfxii: Thanks for researching those bills that Haley was one of many co-sponsors of. Makes me want her as my governor even more!!! Can't imagine Sheheen doing anything about the invasion of our communities and the spiraling crime and "hit-and-runs" from illegal immigrants.
I'm still waiting on some *facts* from Darlene about out of control spending in the SC legislature and how it caused an economic meltdown.
