FITS News reports rumors of new gubernatorial sex romp

I must say that I'm baffled.

Seriously, seriously baffled.

This whole "Slept with Nikki Haley" meme is just out of control. In fact, I'm afraid it's achieved self-awareness. Like Skynet. Damn you, James Cameron.

Really, folks — and by that I mean, Will Folks of FITS News — how much longer can this go on? Either we have the most ineffective smear of all time — Haley is still in the lead — or somebody is sitting on a whole lot of proof that will totally upend the race for governor of South Carolina.

Here's a bit of from FITS about blogger Earl Capps and SCGOP gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley:

FITS just received the following text from Earl Capps in response to rumors about him and S.C. Rep. Nikki Haley. “I’m not going to admit or deny that one,” Capps said. Asked specifically if he had ever been romantically involved with Haley, Capps said “I am not going to address those allegations at this time until I figure out what someone has gotten a hold of. That is my official position.”

Update: Earl Capps recently wrote back, confirming the text to Will Folks. He also had this to say:

I never discuss my personal life, period. Ask me about her or anyone else, and I will tell you the same thing. If you read my blog, you will see that personal stuff about me or anyone else is NEVER discussed.

So you won't get an admission or denial.

This Haley rumor has everyone going nuts. Just got off phone with lawyer friend, but if anyone has advice, I'm all ears.

I have not discussed my relationships on the blog, nor will I discuss personal allegations regarding any South Carolina politico on this blog, including myself. That rule is not up for negotiation. Whether you believe the allegations or not, that's up to you. In cases like these, the truth is a hard thing to prove, so I'm going to put the burden of proof upon those who would accuse me.

UpChuck. Voting Under the Influence made the initial teaser report, but declined to name names.

FITS followed up with a post on rumors about Haley and blogger Earl Capps.

There's a subtle difference.

If the parties that are starting these rumors needs to go this route to win, THEN THIS STATE DOES NOT NEED YOU. We as voters have the ability to make the choices of our own and do not need nasty people to help us. Thank God that we have the chance to make South Carolina Goverment better then the past four years.

Your writing about it only prolongs and makes more aware of the B.S. (stop pointing the finger at others and take some responsibility).... ie, write an article contradicting these claims instead of going on a rant.

"Southern Gentleman" has gone down the gutter in this shameful, dirty, slander mongering started by a low life thug Will Folks to get some hits on his blog and to pimp for his paymasters. This thug has been posting/manufacturing story about Haley every single day and posting "moderated" comments - many by himself under multi Ids trashing Haley with pornographic language. How this thug is being allowed to get away and no one is coming forward to stop this spectacle. In fact by printing such rumor mongering, innuendo and slander, you are giving credibility to these low life thugs sitting in their mama's trailers who have suddenly become "bloggers.

Gary55, I don't think we're giving it credibility. What we have here is quite possibly the single weirdest political smear in history and as such, it's worth noting ... and watching as it develops. And who knew that it would still keep developing.

As such, it's completely fascinating. Bizarre, yes. And very likely an out and out lie. But fascinating, nonetheless, especially when you consider the fact that S.C. stands to elect its first female governor and its first minority governor. Is this how the good ole boy network reacts to such a challenge? Or something even sadder?

Stop the presses!

This just in (from a super secret, but reliable source):

Alvin Greene fathered a love child with Nikki Haley! They met in the library at USC a few years ago when they were checking out some porn together, and one thing led to another.....

Poor Nikki was defenseless against the smooth talking Mr. Greene's advances, and, not wanting to violate her pro-life stand, she kept the baby a secret. The kid is being raised by a distant family member in Turbeville, and is rumoured to resemble "Stewie" from Family Guy!
