Fists and weaves fly at Flowertown Fest (Updated)

Evidently, the fists were flying at the Flowertown Festival over the weekend. We here at the CP HQ hadn't heard a dang thing about this, but thanks to the Post and Courier's Andy Paras, the man who tweets the police scanner all day long, now we have.

And while Paras noted on Twitter that he was glad that his young daughter didn't see the melee, I can assure you that as soon as I get home, my three-month-old baby will be shown the video below. The lesson that I will teach her: Don't get a weave.

Update:

Andy Paras' report on the Flowertown Fight is now online at the P&C. According to the P&C, "Two women and seven juveniles face charges in connection with a brawl that was caught on video at the Flowertown Festival this weekend." Good work, Andy.

As expected, the P&C message board has already been hit by the racist asshats.

I think it is a disgrace to see young females show off at a family event as if it was considered a sports event. It could ruin this events yearly reputation all because these females could not control their hormones. Don't we see enough violence on a daily basis? violence does not solve everything, it comes from pure ignorancy over stupid stuff. All I can say is GROW-UPand I hope that in the near future these females need a job, why not become bouncers at the club where true machoism could be shown.

Reason number three why hosting videos on youtube is for noobs: You have pretty much no control over whether or not it stays up there.

I'm sorry, this video is hilarious... because the subjects of it are pompous, preening chumps. Their discarded entrails at the end of the video are a terrific punchline. Laughing at the subjects doesn't make you a racist but demeaning them for their race (and not their actions) does.

Anyone surprised by the race-baiting in the P&C forum obviously hasn't spent much time on that site. It is where the reactionary, bored racists hang out. Yeah, the women are black; how is this a calling card for an entire race? Ill-educated people fight in public all the time, though these folks seemed smart enough to not fight the police. So they've got that going for them, which is nice.
