South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster is the latest Palmetto State gubernatorial candidate to release a statement following Sunday night's healthcare vote. And he's vowing to take on Uncle Sam in court.
The health care legislation Congress passed last night is an assault against the Constitution of the United States. It contains various provisions and federal mandates that are clearly unconstitutional and must not be allowed to stand. The key question involved is whether personal freedom, state sovereignty and constitutional law will survive in America for future generations.
A legal challenge by the States appears to be the only hope of protecting the American people from this unprecedented attack on our system of government.
As your attorney general, I have sworn an oath to uphold and defend both the United States and South Carolina constitutions. I therefore intend to challenge the constitutionality of this profoundly unwise legislation. I expect attorneys general from other states to participate in this challenge, and we will take our case to the United States Supreme Court if necessary.
After soliciting a campaign donation from email recipients, McMaster then has this to say:
Our way of life in America is literally under assault by a crowd of ultra-liberal politicians in Washington. In the months ahead, this struggle for freedom will require tested leaders with the courage to act and the ability to win. I ask you to stand with me.
Hmm. Which way of life would that be Henry? The one where it's OK for a guy to be a member of an all-white country club and serve as South Carolina's attorney general ... and then think he's got a shot at the governor's office?
If that's the way of life you're talking about Henry — you were until very, very recently a member of such a club — then I say bring on the battering rams.

This is a letter I posted in response to Senator Boehner's remarks to the House of Representaives last night. I though I would post it here too.
Boehner you got it wrong. Health Care reformed passed BECAUSE the democrats were listening to all the citizens of the US and not just the loud tea baggers and racist minority. Being loud doesn't make you right or the majority. And to tell the truth Boehner this never was about health care. It was all about politics and the citizens be damned. You were against not only every democrat idea, you were against every republican idea if the democrats accepted it. You were for it before you were against it. The Health Care mandate was Grassley's idea. Taxing some health care benefits was McCain’s idea. Insurance exchanges were a republican idea. Every time the democrats accepted one of your ideas you became against it. This went beyond health care. You voted against funding the armed forces and tax breaks for small businesses. These are two main republican positions. You even voted against a deficit committee after proposing it. Your indignation has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with politics. Now you will keep spewing whatever it takes to keep the tea baggers and racists riled up. You think this will give you a political advantage. But your veil is easily seen through. The hate and vileness of your actions will be your down falling. You Mr. Boehner are an example of politics at its worst.
What does an all white country club have to do with anything? What if I said Obama was a racist for going to an all black church with Rev. Wright preaching hate or Obama was a terrorist for hanging with the Weather Underground Terrorist? Facts are that the Dem party is nothing more than a group of Socialist pandering to the under and no class segment of our society. Those who want but don't want to produce. Those that have no desire to excel in life but to stand and complain about life's inequities. It's not hard to understand that the doctors or those that would be doctors will find other professions now. If someone told a burger flipping democrat that he was never going to get a pay raise because the min wage was frozen he wouldn't be happy. The health care plan the house just passed will die in the supreme court the states will see to that. Have any of you better than thou dems ever read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights? Check out the 10th Amend. Be happy for now paying higher taxes, and higher prices for everything, but your health care plan will die a misreable death. For those of you who work I want you to go to the owner of the company and tell them you are glad he is going to pay higher taxes. Maybe that will save someone else's job when he sends you packin with a pink slip. Have a nice day.
Jersey? That's a dem controlled state. I'll just stay down south were I was born if you don't mind. I prefer to look at history with admiration and truthfulness not the rewritten version of todays politically correct revisionists.
The easiest way to make a liberal mad is to tell him the truth or furnish him/her with facts. Facts to a liberal is like kryptonite to superman. I think it's laughable that someone actually claimed that the house actually listened to the majority? Where did this joker have his head hidden the past few months? I'll bet I can guess. (*)
If Obama went to the church, it wasn't all black. This is a fact. Speaking of facts, was the CC in question for McMaster whites-only by rule or it just by coincidence, like a NASCAR race? I mean, I can't wait to vote for a man that got publicly smacked down by Craigslist to be the next governor, but I want to have a robustly-formed opinion.
Rev Wrights church wasn't full of Crackers that's fo sure.

Yes. The club in question was all-white by rule. Blacks were banned in the deed according to the Free Times. And, until recently, had no Jews as well.

According to Will Folks (at FITSnews.com), McMaster and Tumpy Campbell are both still members of Forest Lake Country Club, which until Jan. 2009 (or sometime close by) was all-white.

Wow. I could have sworn that after Katon Dawson lost the national Republican Party chair, McMaster and Tumpy both left Forest Lake.
I don't know who's a bigger moron me or McMaster. (We know where Tumpy stands on this. He doesn't know if he's a lobbyist or not.)
NAACP was founded by JEWS not blacks , BET is now owned by a major white own co. and UNCF is for a very positive cause, because these schools don't have the luxury of big money spenders and donor. Besides the so call conservatives got their " Vote No", orders from their true leader spritual leader king Rush.
dude some of the founding members of the naacp were white, henry moskowitz, mary white ovington, look it up. b.e.t. was created to give rnb artists a platform to show there videos which weren't getting any play on mtv which was more rock oriented back then. bob johnson saw a demand for rnb videos and supplied it. sounds like free market to me :). anyway b.e.t is now owned by viacom (which isn't run by a black person) and has never actively discriminated against any white artists that i know of, just saw robin thick on there a minute ago haha. finally, the uncf was founded in 1944, yea 1944 during a period when many universities did not accept blacks. today 60% of the kids that recieve these scholarships are the first to to attend college in their families and 62% come from families that earn less than 25k/year. i would think that a conservative would applaud private citizens contributing to help other private citizens "pull themselves up by their bootstraps". last thing, the largest donation ever recieved by the uncf was by walter annenberg. i love white people lol.
Save the money to fix the bridges, pave the roads, and pay teachers, firefighters and the police. Stupid lawsuits to get elected, not a good use of taxpayer funds.
Hey, Obummer, remember when you humiliated the Supreme Court during your State of the Union Message? Well it do look like the chickens is commin' home to roost.
Bingo, Jeffersoda, . . When the cases presently working their way through the system reach the Supreme Court, it's gonna be cold as ICE for Obogus or anything that has his fingerprints on it !!!! . .
He has, since arriving in Washington, insulted and belittled a whole lot of people and groups. He's got a rude awakening coming alright, . . and soon !!! . . .
I have seen the past, and it sucked. The present sucks somewhat less. Not optimistic about the future: reason, freedom and justice speak with weak voices.
Those darned discriminated against, deck stacked against them, maligned and persecuted W.A.S.P.s. They want their country back and returned to what it once was....back in the 1950's.
@charlestowne2 You really know your stuff. John Boehner is a Representative from Ohio, the Minority Leader in the House not the Senate. Guess that really makes your statements credible. Anyway, have you read the comments that follow articles referring to this health care bill? The little numbers to the right of each post represent how people feel about these posts. 60-70% of the comments are against this monster of a government take over. Also, do you understand that if a number is over 50, then it is considered a majority. The day the House voted on this bill, the people opposed to the bill was 56%. That is a majority. That was not all racist tea baggers charlestowne2. You lecture people about name calling yet you ALWAYS label someone or some group. I think you should use snopes because NONE of your posts are factual. And I would honestly beg to differ with you on Boehner being politics at its worse. The current president has that distinction all to himself. I could list many many reasons to justify him as worse politican, but he's doing a good job on that all himself. And by the way, Rep. Wilson was absolutely correct. This president is a big big liar!
