Radio host Mike Gallagher to speak at Charleston GOP convention

Posted by Chris Haire on Fri, Apr 3, 2009 at 4:10 PM

Nationally syndicated, right-wing talk radio host Mike Gallagher will speak at the Charleston County Republican Party convention on April 18 at the North Charleston Convention Center.

Prior to becoming a syndicated host, he was at WFBC AM in Greenville. He's now based out of New York City, and is the host of the reportedly 6th most listened to talk radio show in America, "The Mike Gallagher Show." He was previously heard on Real 1340 AM in Charleston.

"I have watched Mike on the Fox News Channel and consider him to be a solid conservative who is principled and who can articulate the basic core values of conservatism," says Lin Bennett, the chair of the Charleston County Republican Party. "He doesn't waiver from the facts and is great at walking his listeners through the logical steps of conservatism. He's polite, kind, and generous."

Bennett adds, "With voters of all political persuasions concerned about the excessive, wasteful spending currently going on in Washington, I expect we will get wonderful insight into Mike Gallagher's perceptions of the current tax-and-spend Congress. That includes both parties."

Bennett says that all the candidates running for the state GOP seat will be at the convention, along with some candidates running for governor, lieutenant governor, and the 1st Congressional District.

Last Friday, Real 1340 AM abandoned its talk format and switched to beach, boogie, and blues.
