It takes a big man to admit a mistake and apologize for it. Mr. Burnell has my respect for taking the proper step in issuing an apology for speaking rashly. In fact, he is highly esteemed by this Illinoisan who would love to make a Christian Exodus to South Carolina!

I don't see anything in Burnell's apology which shows any remorse or even an admission of a mistake. Given the fact that he has basically libeled a United States Senator he is probably in "cover your ass" mode. Note his language in the second email: "I didn’t think twice about the comment when I wrote it, because I believe it to be true..." So Burnell isn't saying, "I stand corrected," or, "I've seen the error of my ways," or even, "I was basing my opinion on a baseless and vicious rumor." He is basically saying, "Look, although I personally believe that Lindsay Graham is a filthy degenerate homosexual, I have no proof. Please don't sue my organization and myself out of existence." But is anyone even surprised? By all accounts Burnell seems to be a tremendous flake - this is a guy urging people to relocate to South Carolina while he suns himself in California. This is a former League of the South guy we're talking about here. Burnell had the opportunity to articulate in a meaningful manner why a candidate like Witherspoon may be a better choice for voters than Graham. Instead he chose to attack him from a baseless, legally questionable stance. It's not like Graham is advancing some sort of gay agenda behind the scenes. There is not one legislative move that the guy has made in his career which reveals any particular sexual leanings. The most even handed thing you can say about him is that he is perhaps asexual in his professional life. So why even mention it unless out of spite, or fear, or hate? Hate. Yeah, I think that's it. Burnell is betraying his abject hatred of homosexuals. Don't tell me that in the Christian Exodus utopia the gays won't be rounded up and sent to the re-education camps or the crematoriums. I mean, if Graham is gay then shouldn't people like Burnell over look that, forgive it, urge Graham to reject his satanic homosexual urges? Hate the sin, not the sinner? Fuck, Burnell isn't even Christian. He's just plain'ole fascist. Christian Exodus is a wet dream, nothing more. What does it say when the guy at the helm puts himself and his organization in legal jeopardy with a flippant and ultimately useless remark? How stable, or legitimate can Christian Exodus be when its head is so obviously tone-deaf and clueless? Christian Exodus is going to keep it up and eventually get sued out of existence by the SPLC or the ACLU. If Burnell is this careless, this idiotic, this stupid in his daily comings and goings then how long before defames someone who cares?

Wow! Deep Throat, you sound like you have never spoken rashly. Let's not forget that the emails posted here were not for public viewing. I am sure even you have said things in private that you would not want posted all across the internet? I will be honest and say that I have written things in private emails that I regret. Let's not start calling others fascist or use filthy language. After all, it could be construed as a potential hate crime. Dear Deep Throat, I pray you will become a new creation in Christ as your hateful response reveals a soul in torment. May the good LORD reveal Himself to you. Amen.

Oh please Angela, do grow up. So let me get this straight: using the "f" word and calling a fascist a fascist curdles your milk, but libeling a U.S. Senator and expressing abject hatred toward an entire group of human beings is ok in your book? What type of "Christian" are you again? You realize that by defending Cory Burnell and his ilk you are enabling a group of people who advocate the repeal of the Fourteenth Amendment, which abolished slavery, made former slaves citizens and gave them the right to vote, don't you? And I can't even believe that you're defending Burnell by saying that this was a message not intended for the public! I received this email as did many thousands of other people. No one broke into Burnell's home and stole this information - he sent it out to anyone who cared to sign up for his email list. You are obviously ignorant of the facts, or so misguided by hatred that you're willing to spread out right lies on behalf of a racist homophobe. And so what if it even was private? This is a person who wants to overthrow our government, shred our secular Constitution and establish in its place a theocracy. What he is advocating is no different than what Osama bin Laden is proposing. You don't think that we should respect Osama's private hate filled communications do you? Well, do you? If you truly are a "Christian" (and I don't see any reason to think that you are, given your decidedly non-Christian views) then you should really think long and hard about what our country would look like under the rule of people like Burnell and his jack booted neo-inquisitors. I'm not saying that under such a theocracy the homosexuals, atheists, blacks, and other groups would necessarily be rounded up and sent to the gas chambers, but there is no discounting the fact that a move toward theocracy is a move backwards toward a style of government where such holocausts have a good chance of becoming a reality. Shame on you Angela for supporting an agent of hate.

Dear Deep Throat, First of all, you are sounding a bit judgmental as you proclaim who is not of Christ in your opinion (and this is the type of judgmentalism God condemns.) Secondly, you cannot define how a Christian is to act or think because you are not a person of the Trinity. If you really want to know what God thinks about sin, please read the Bible -- and please read it in context. Thank you! I am praying for you.

Angela, I'm not the one you should be worried about. I'm not advancing a doctrine of hate - you are. I'm not propping up a group of neo-confederates who are seeking to overthrow our government - you are. I'm not advocating a return to segregation, slavery, and the persecution of people who are "different" from myself - you are. You're doing all of these things and they only thing you can say in defense of your actions is, "I am praying for you" ??? Lady take your prayers and stuff them up your ass. It time for Senator Lindsey Graham to step forward and set the record straight. Does he still support amnosty for illegal aliens? Does he completely support removing all illegal aliens from the USA? And last, is he a closet homosexual as so many have come to believe?
