The boys of Stop Light Observations apparently made great use of their time spent holed up in a house on the Toogoodoo River last year recording new material, because the small taste they just dropped is pretty darn delicious.
The local band debuted their new single “Dinosaur Bones” with Garden & Gun
today, and the track is one promising preview of what’s in store when the new LP, aptly named Toogoodoo
, gets a release later this year. “It was the song that gave us the confidence we needed to achieve our dream of a live recorded album,” the band said on their Facebook page yesterday.
“Dinosaur Bones” is the first track the group recorded live at the river house. Pianist, guitarist, and songwriter John-Keith Culbreth told Garden & Gun
he penned the song after a late-night fight with his high school sweetheart, who he had just moved in with.
