Celebrate Friday right and spend the early hours of the evening unwinding to the sounds of some of the North Carolina mountains' finest banjo picking. Underhill Rose and Town Mountain, both from Asheville, will entertain this Friday, May 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Palmetto Loading Dock as part of the brewery's weekly music series.

Like a bluegrass band crossed with En Vogue, Underhill Rose makes soulful sounds with honey-sweet harmonies, thoughtful songwriting, and clawhammer pickin’, too. The trio draws inspiration as much from folk and old country as they do rhythm and blues, hitting chords with fans of diverse genres.

String band Town Mountain play upbeat bluegrass that recalls some of music’s biggest influencers like Bill Monroe and Chuck Berry. “I feel like we’re closer to original bluegrass than a lot of bands out there today,” says banjoist Jesse Langlais. “I listened to a radio show recently that featured Ricky Skaggs and he flat-out said that Bill Monroe influenced rock and roll. He said that folks like Elvis and Carl Perkins and those guys were looking up to Bill Monroe.” Town Mountain’s Charleston stop is just ahead of their upcoming performing at MerleFest.

Admission is free, and pints are all $5 each.
