Is Nashville the new Brooklyn or something? Indie singer-songwriter Sam Stringfield is the latest in a line of local artists to trade the Holy City for the Music City, but it’s in Charleston that he collaborated with Ryan Bonner to produce and record the April 22 release Caught in Character. “I went in with a set of songs that I had in my head a certain way,” Stringfield says, “and it was an incredible experience seeing them evolve as everyone added their parts and own takes on the material.” Charleston musicians including Whitt Algar, Parker Gins, Ben Meyer, and Lonnie Root also contributed to the album, available now on iTunes and Spotify. Have a listen to one of the more memorable ditties "No Cocaine on Sundays" right here.
