Besides being the guy behind Follywood Productions — the local booker for Davis Coen, James Justin and Co., and others — Ben Bounds is director of Folly Beach's annual Sea and Sand Festival, March 28-29. While Bounds hasn't completely finalized the musical lineup, so far he has some solid acts lined up, including Guilt Ridden Troubadour, Weigh Station, and the Rusty Hook Ramblers. Bounds tell us he'll have the rest of the musical lineup shortly, and as soon as we found out, we'll let you know. For more information about the fest, visit follybeachfestivals.com.
Speaking of upcoming events, the second annual Dig South is just around the bend. From April 9-13, the Holy City will once again play host to one — if not the only — tech and music-hybrid conference in the South. In addition to hosting some IT luminaries, last year's Dig South featured a handful of truly stellar acts, including Lee Fields and the Expressions, Them Darlings, Yarn, Roscoe Bandana, and Hurray for the Riff Raff. Dig South's main man Stan Gray says that he's this close to releasing a lineup for the April conference. We don't know about you, but we have high hopes — seriously, Lee Fields was bad ass.
