What happens when a NASCAR star teams up with a country rocker? A jammin’ Southern good time, of course.
NASCAR No. 11 Denny Hamlin and Hootie & the Blowfish lead guitarist Mark Bryan will host their second annual Pro-Am Jam on Oct. 21-22 on Daniel Island. The private golf and music event, which will bring together celebrity musicians, entertainers, and athletes, will benefit three charities focused on children and education. The Celebrity Jam Concert, presented by SunTrust, will take place on the back lawn at the Daniel Island Club, followed by a round of golf at the Ralston Creek Course. The Celebrity Pro-Am is the next day, hosted by the Student Transportation of American Education Foundation (STAEF).
“I’ve so enjoyed getting to raise funds with Denny and Denis, and some of the all-time greats, playing music and golf on Daniel Island,” Bryan says. “Thanks to everyone who helped us get off to such a good start with this event.”
Last year’s celebrity jam ended up raising $135,000 for charities. Hamlin and Bryan hope to top that in 2013 while hosting a laid-back, fun weekend, which will be sure to feature a slew of celebrities and great music.
