Admit it. You want to be on TV. There's no shame in it. None. It'll certainly make your grandma happy. Well, thanks to the folks at the Charleston Music Hall and Mark Bryan, you may finally get your chance. On Sat. March 30, the Music Hall and the Hootie and the Blowfish guitarist are joining forces for what they hope is the first in a series of concerts that will air on TV. The name: Live at the Charleston Music Hall. The first performance features Blowfish buddy and Greenville native Edwin McCain and newgrass great Sam Bush, and if all goes as planned, the gig will be filmed and later whittled down into two 30-minute TV shows. "If this series gets picked up, it will have a lasting impact on both the Charleston and Southeastern music scenes," Bryan says. The Blowfisher is also the executive producer of the Chucktown Music Group, one of the show's organizers. Both Charliewood Pictures and the College of Charleston are also involved in the event. Bryan adds, "Our inspiration is Austin City Limits, and we hope this concert becomes that big." Tickets are $30, and the fun starts at 8 p.m. For more information, call (843) 853-2252 or visit charlestonmusichall.com.
