Can You Dig It?

Dig it.

This April Silicon Harbor is hosting a rather unique little high-tech hootenanny called Dig South that'll feature digital entrepreneurs and innovators from companies like Twitter, Facebook, and ReverbNation. (And yes, we couldn't quite type "Silicon Harbor' with a straight face.) But for Holy City music lovers who don't know their Zuckerbergs from their Wozniaks, the musical lineup is sure to be the main draw. The shows will take place at venues across town (Think: The Alley, Redux Contemporary Art Center, and the Charleston Music Hall.) In particular, we're pretty damn jazzed about catching soul great Lee Fields, punky girl group Those Darlins, and roots rockers Rosco Bandana. Plenty of locals are getting in on the action. Charleston's Brave Baby is headlining a locals show with Heyrocco and Elim Bolt, while Dangermuffin, Rachel Kate, and The Bushels are opening for the national acts. "We wanted serious emerging artists from Charleston, as well as highly recommended touring groups," says Dig South organizer Stan Gray. "Music goes hand in hand with an interactive expo, and I'm excited about the entire line-up." Dig South takes place April 12-14. Single-day passes for the expo and music sideshow are $45; the weekend is $80. For more tickets and more info, visit digsouth.com.
