The S.C. ALS Association and 105.5 the Bridge will sponsor Band Together for ALS, an all-day music event on Sat. Nov. 17, to raise money and increase awareness for ALS. Those suffering from ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease, progressively lose muscle function. The Brick House Kitchen on Folly Road will host the show featuring a wide range of musicians, including Charleston's own, the Ryan Bonner Band, Sarah Cole and the Hawkes, Mark Bryan (Hootie and the Blowfish), and Graham Whorley, who lost his sister, Laura, to ALS seven years ago and helped organize the event. In addition to stand up comics and music throughout the day and night, there will also be a variety of local and regional vendors, oysters, and spirits. Doors open at 11 a.m. Tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 day of the show. Will call tickets are available at scalsa.org, while physical tickets are available at Bert's Market (Folly Beach), Monster Music and Movies, the Folly Beach Piggly Wiggly, and the Brick House Kitchen.
