Lindsay Holler has been a huge fan of Gram Parsons' for many years. "I usually sneak a Gram Parsons song into a set when I can," she says, adding that after Brian Hannon of Company heard her do a Parson cover and they ended up talking about how much they dig the late The Flying Burrito Brothers's music. So when it came time to plan this year's Holy City Cold Hearts Revival, Hannon approached Holler about making this year's show a tribute to the country-rock great. "I thought 'What a great fit,'" Holler says. "I welcomed the opportunity to work with Brian and thought this would bring a new fresh dynamic to the show." She adds, "The Revival is in its sixth year and has built itself around the 'alt-country' sound, which so many people credit Gram Parsons for helping move that genre forward." The annual alt-country concert goes down at the Pour House on Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, and 100 percent of proceeds go to the Gram Parsons Foundation, an organization that helps musicians battling addiction. The show's lineup includes Elim Bolt, Rachel Kate Gillon, and Lindsay Holler's Western Polaroids. The closing band is Hickory Wind, a Charleston supergroup that will cover Parsons' songs, made up of Josh Kaler, Mackie Bowles, Brad Edwardson, Johnnie Matthews, Hannon, and Holler.
