Luke Cunningham
Pop/rock songwriter Luke Cunningham, a longtime local who splits him time between the Lowcountry and New York City, celebrated the release of his solo debut album Heart Pressure with a listening party and performance at the Cocktail Club on Nov. 30.

Known best as the frontman for local indie-pop band Part Time Heroes and recent side project Kentucky Shine, Cunningham spent much of 2010 working on the soundtrack for an indie film titled Blood, Sweat and Beers. This year, he tracked and mixed 10 new originals.

“I’ve spent more time the past two years focusing solely on writing,” Cunningham says. “So many artists waste their time fretting about their careers instead of what they’re creating. But I constantly remind myself that there are so many stories to be told and only one life to do it. So I concentrate solely on the songs themselves.”

Cunningham hit the road for New York this week. Visit lukecunninghammusic.com for more.
