Frontman/bassist Les Claypool will be armed with a new bass. “The design is something I’ve been working on for quite some time,” says Claypool. “Having had the opportunity to play many exceptional instruments over the years, I’ve been able to incorporate elements of some of my favorites. Besides my own design fanciness, it is part Fender Jazz, Fender Precision, Rickenbacker 4001, Carl Thompson, Jaguar E-Type, and a bit of Dr. Suess.”
The current lineup includes drummer Jay Lane (of Furthur) and guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde.
Primus performs at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Thurs. June 9 at 8 p.m. Reserved seats for the show go on sale for $39.50 on Fri. March 11 at 10 a.m. at the Coliseum Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000.
