Scott Holt
One of the big standout shows of this week’s Blues Bash schedule is Nashville-based electric guitarist and songwriter Scott Holt. With his impressive technical proficiency and versatility, he’s capable of practically any blues-rock style, although he’s most revered by fans and critics for his Chicago-style leanings.

At age 23, Holt happened into a great gig when the legendary Buddy Guy invited him to join him on the road as his sideman. Holt spent the next decade alongside Guy on stage and in the studio. In Nashville, Holt leads his own band, comprised of bassist Dan Eubanks, drummer Marshal Weaver, and keyboardist Joe “Lightning” Peterson. Holt describes his art as “a singular and supreme form of prayer.” He headlines the West Ashley Home Team BBQ behind his new disc, Kudzu.
