Murrells Inlet-based groove-rock quartet Ten Toes Up recently released a new studio album titled Sleeping Lion
. Songwriter and frontman BJ Craven, bassist Charles Freeman, drummer Adam Miller, and percussionist Josh Gregory recorded the 12-song collection in Myrtle Beach at Sea Note Recording Studio with Carolina songwriter veteran Danielle Howle at the helm (she sang backing vocals on two songs as well).
“It’s still a rock ’n’ roll record, but Danielle lent us her ‘never-square’ mind to give it some more personality,” says Craven. The new album follows 2008’s Bridges & Breakdowns.
Ten Toes Up will perform at the Barn jam at Awendaw Green on Wed. Dec. 15. Visit myspace.com/tentoesup for more.
