The Creed and Godsmack guys (well, most of them, anyway) are sneaking into Charleston this Thursday, Oct. 4 for a loud gig at the Plex. Universal/Republic recording artists Alter Bridge — guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips, bassist Brian Marshall (all formerly of Creed) and lead singer/guitarist Myles Kennedy (ex-Mayfield Four) — visit town behind a new album titled Blackbird (featuring the single “Rise Today”) — follow-up to 2005’s One Day Remains.

Opening act Another Animal features three members of Godsmack — guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin — with original Godsmack guitarist Lee Richards (ex-Dropbox) and ex-Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane. Their debut album, Broken Again (Universal) hit the street this week. Tickets for Thursday’s show are $27 ($22 adv.). Doors open at 7 p.m.
