In last year's inaugural event, Cone 10 raised nearly $4,000 and this year, co-owner Anne John hopes to raise even more. To that end, chef Celia Cerasoli and clay artist Fiorenzo Berardozzi will make a simple soup and some fresh bread, while 25 other potters will donate handcrafted bowls to be used for the meal. Guests get to keep the bowl with their $42 donation.
The dinner will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 6-8 p.m. at the Cone 10 Studios at 1080 Morrison Dr. Purchase tickets by calling (843) 853-3345. Space is limited so make haste.
It has to be one of the most poetic of fundraisers. Cone 10 Studios, Charleston's collection of talented potters, will serve up hearty soup in handcrafted bowls as a way to raise money for Crisis Ministries, an organization that feeds and shelters 1,600 needy people a year.
