If  you haven't had a chance to take a trek to Hemingway, S.C. to visit Scott's BBQ and see for yourself what all the hype is about (and you didn't splurge on an $85 ticket to Garden & Gun's Jubilee last weekend), pitmaster Rodney Scott will be coming to Charleston next Sunday, Dec. 22 to kick off his Rodney in Exile tour.

He'll be setting up his burn barrels and rig on King Street in front of Jim 'n' Nick's for the third Sunday festivities when King Street will be closed to cars and welcoming pedestrians for holiday fun. Slow-cooked whole hog barbecue sandwiches will be $5 with drinks and sides from Jim 'n' Nick's from 1-5 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go towards rebuilding Scott's pit room, which was damaged in a fire a couple days before Thanksgiving.

From there, he'll hit the road in January and visit his colleagues from the competitive Fatback Collective barbecue team, which includes such Southern luminaries as Sean Brock, John Currence, Ashley Christensen, Donald Link, and Sam Jones.

He'll be hitting Atlanta Jan. 20 and stopping by Kevin Gillespie's Gunshow; on Jan. 23 he'll be at Husk Nashville; on Jan. 26, he'll team up with John Currence and John T. Edge at Lamar Lounge in Oxford, Miss.; on Jan. 29, it'll be in New Orleans with Donald Link, Ryan Prewitt, and Stephen Stryjewski at Cochon, and he'll wrap his tour up in Birmingham at Jim n' Nick's on Feb. 1.
