North Charleston's La Norteña is slashing prices for the holiday season. During the month of December, they're offering half-off food from 2-5 p.m. every weekday. Margaritas and tacos seem like a perfect way to start or end a shopping spree, if you ask me.
The sprawling menu spans everything from tacos and tortas to ceviche and shrimp. Indeed, the seafood specialties are part of the appeal of this place. They recently added a new slate of specialties. The combination Mazatlan plates up for different styles of ceviche while the Filete Special a la Plancha grills two fish fillets and serves them up with pico de gallo, veggies, and white rice. If you've got a big appetite, go for the camarones combination, which is 20 jumbo shrimp prepared four different ways (a la diabla, a la plancha, mojo de ajo, and al ajillo). Then there's the fried seafood platter, which includes octopus, shrimp, calamari, fish, and scallops alongside a big pile of crinkle cut french fries (not sure how Mexican that is, but there are plenty of fries on this menu).
Server Alex Sanchez says they'll be also bringing in Maria Vasquez on Sundays to make fresh corn tortillas, tamales, and chili rellenos.
