Surf and turf has come a long way from a lobster and filet. Kanpai’s Sean Park and the Rarebit’s Brannon Florie will attest to that. They are putting together a dinner in which each course will have a sea and land element and be paired with beer and sake.

“Palmetto is brewing a special beer for us, a mango and wasabi one,” Florie says. “I just dropped off the mangos.” He also hinted that Frothy Beard may be making a special brew too.

And you’ll get a sweet treat at the end, but probably not sea or land related. “Sean will be doing the dessert. I am not a dessert guy,” says Florie. Only 30 tickets will be sold, and it’s already halfway sold out — so get on it fast.

The $60 dinner will be held this Sunday, Nov. 3 at Kanpai Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. Buy tickets at eventbrite.
