  • Patat Spot will be closing its George St. storefront.

Patat Spot Friet & Falafel announced on Sept. 29 that it would be closing up at its George Street location for good. But don’t say au revoir to the European style snack bar just yet. On their Facebook page, Patat Spot has said they are currently looking for a new home, perhaps one with cheaper rent and a better location.

Rumor has it that Mama Q’s out on Johns Island has closed up shop too. A disconnected phone line seems to confirm the claim.

Out in Mt. P. Uno Mas has also closed its doors, but just for renovations. The makeover started at the end of last month and will continue for at least a couple more. Uno Mas is under the umbrella company, Dining with Sal, which owns restaurants like Mustard Seed and Sette. There’s talk of changing up the concept but details haven’t been hammered out. A representative of Dining with Sal said the space might still center on Mexican food and maybe with a little more flair, or something altogether different.
