The new restaurant will be called Falyn's on Forty-One, or FOFO. Though we can't pinpoint the exact location yet, we can speculate that it will be on Highway 41, which might make the new spot more accessible than 17 North Roadside Kitchen.
According to Florie, the name was inspired by his new daughter, Falyn (pronounced "Follin"). He wants everyone to experience the type of food his daughter will experience as she grows up. He likes to call it "upscale backyard fare." We'll likely see a mix of flavors from the Lowcountry, Texas, and the Caribbean, as well as some wild game — think fried oyster tacos with green tomato chutney, smoked briskets and ribs, and wild boar burgers.
The space will have about 30 seats inside with the addition of a large patio that will seat 80-plus. They'll have a decent selection of craft beer, and Florie assures us that they'll be hosting some killer beer dinners.
Construction will begin at the mystery location in about three weeks and they're hoping to open FOFO by late January. In the meantime, Florie is helping out with the opening of The Rarebit on Upper King Street, where he's had his hand in creating the menu and training staff.
